Patient Group
Our group were formed in 2011 and have met every few months since then. The group consists of only eight members who are all retired. We have posters around the practice inviting all patients to join our group. Unfortunately all efforts to encourage younger patients have been unsuccessful.
As the age group of 17-40 makes up a third of our practice population, the group feels strongly that their voice should be represented. This is not specific just to our practice. Some members of our group attended a networking meeting for arranged for all the PPG’s in our Federated Commissioning Group. It was a common theme for there to be no younger representative on the groups. It was also a common that ethnic minority patients were also not represented.
There are to be further networking meetings later this year and the groups have identified the need to address these problems.
